« Dignare me laudare te, Virgó Sacráta»
« Grant that I may praise thee, O most Sacred Virgin! »« Da mihi virtutem contra hostes tuos! »
« Give me strength against thy enemies!»
The Saints often had these words on their lips. We could say the above words each time we take up our Rosary.
By promoting the Holy Rosary, we help others find peace and serenity in their lives, and use this extraordinary prayer as a Church’s combat against all her enemies.
The Rosary is the sapphire crown that shines around your forehead, O Mary!
The Rosary is the royal diadem of precious diamonds that rests on your august head, O Mary!
The Rosary is the garment of a thousand colors that descends in undulating folds from your holy shoulders, O Mary!
Is not the Rosary the garland of roses that links the hearts of your children to your maternal heart?
Is it not Jacob’s mysterious ladder to heaven?
Is it not King David’s holy harp on which we sing your praises as we meditate on your Rosary? It is you we celebrate, O divine Queen of heaven!
What else is the Rosary, what is its essence?
The Holy Church, speaking of Mary, calls her the Mystical Rose. Rosa Mystica.
This mystical Rose, like all roses, has a heart that forms its excellence and beauty, and the divine heart of this mystical Rose is Jesus.
This mystical Rose, Mary, blooms into fifteen leaves or petals:
— Five are as brilliantly white as the lily of the valley. They are called Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity, Purification and Recovering in the Temple. These are the Joyful Mysteries.
— Five are speckled with blood like the crimson rose. They are called: Agony, Flagellation, Crowning with Thorns, Carrying the Cross, Crucifixion. These are the Sorrowful Mysteries.
— The last five are golden, like ears of harvest ripened by the sun. They are: the Resurrection, the Ascension, the Descent of the Holy Spirit, the Assumption of Mary and her Crowning in Heaven. These are the Glorious Mysteries.
